Privacy Policy

Space Log is a personal memory diary that sends your entries to your own Gmail inbox. This policy explains exactly what we store and what we don't.

What we store

When you save a memory, we store only the following in our database:

  • Your Google user ID and email address
  • The month and year of the memory
  • The one-line summary you wrote
  • Your mood selection (optional)
  • The participants you listed (optional)
  • The date and time the entry was created

This minimal record is what powers your timeline view.

What we never store

  • The full text of your memory
  • Any photos, videos, or file attachments
  • Your Gmail access token — it lives only in your browser session
  • Any email you have received or sent

Your full memory content and attachments go directly from your browser to Gmail's API. They never touch our servers.

How we use Gmail

We request the gmail.send permission solely to send one email to your own inbox each time you save a memory. We do not read, scan, index, or access any other email in your account.

Your Gmail access token is stored only in your browser's memory for the duration of your session. Refreshing or closing the tab clears it — you sign in again next visit.

Google Sign-In

We use Google Sign-In to identify you so we can show you your own timeline. We do not share your Google account information with any third party.

Data retention and deletion

Your timeline records (the minimal metadata above) are kept until you request deletion. To delete your data, email chuckecheers@gmail.com with your Google account email and we will remove all records associated with your account within 7 days.

Third parties

We do not sell, share, or rent your data to any third party. The only external service involved is Google (for authentication and Gmail delivery), governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Space Log after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
